NEBRASKA TAXPAYERS FOR FREEDOM ISSUE PAPER:
STOP DUMPING OF ILLEGAL ALIENS IN STATES.

BACKGROUND.
Since its beginning, the Biden Regime has taken pressure off immigration authorities at our southern border by gathering large groups of illegal alien detainees at detention centers and transporting them to states throughout the nation, literally dumping them as penniless refugees in local communities that immediately dispense find local tax dollars to house, feed, clothe, and provide medical and welfare services for them. The regime uses planes, buses, and unmarked vans to transport illegals into communities late at night without vetting them for terrorist or criminal backgrounds. Local elected officials and their constituents rightly feel outrage at being forced to subsidize non-citizens who will become long-term public charges on taxpayers. Once dumped, these illegals take jobs from lawful citizens, lower wages, flood public schools, and spike the welfare rolls. Affected communities like Omaha and Grand Island see an immediate spike in criminal activity and welfare and medical costs from indigent illegals. The Biden Regime cares not for local feelings; the President simply wants to integrate these illegal aliens as rapidly as possible, so that they can quickly become Democrat voters. Once situated, the illegals melt into the existing immigrant community and assume anonymity. Dept. of Homeland Security data reveals that the feds lost track of over 50,000 illegals released by the immigration service. Required to report to authorities after arriving at their local destinations, they failed to do so. Between March and August, 2021, of over 270,000 illegals released from detention, about 104,000 placed on this honor system to voluntarily report to authorities became tagged for deportation but disappeared.

THE BILL.
Conservative Cong. Mo Brooks (AL.) introduced HR 6378, a bill to require the Sec. of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Att.-General, to notify the governor of a state and chief executive of a locality before illegal aliens transported to, housed in, or resettled in a state. This bill currently is in the Judiciary Committee, awaiting a vote to advance it to the full House for debate. The bill specifically forbids use of federal funds to transport, house, or resettle illegal aliens without approval by a state governor. NE Gov. Pete Ricketts actually can stop illegals settling here. No settlement of illegals permitted in a locality like county or city, if such political subdivision has a law, ordinance, or resolution prohibiting or disapproving the acceptance of illegals there. An exception to this proposal still allows use of federal funds to transport or detain an illegal alien for civil or criminal law enforcement reasons. The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), a leading border security advocacy organization, endorsed this bill. Congressman Brooks said, “The first duty of any government is to protect its citizens against invaders. I believe in empowering governors and local elected officials to defend their states and communities since Joe Biden has proven incapable or unwilling to do his duty.”

TAKE ACTION NOW.
A prime responsibility of government is to protect its revenues to service citizens, but this Biden Regime reckless policy has left local communities speechless and powerless and placed citizen lives at risk, also community revenues. HR 6378 would allow a governor and local officials the rights and means to protect citizens in their homes and communities and avoid surprise heavy financial obligations.
