NEBRASKA TAXPAYERS FOR FREEDOM ISSUE PAPER:
RESCIND THESE APPROPRIATIONS FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS.

BACKGROUND
. Congressional Socialist Democrats generously appropriated $350 million for illegal alien and refugee aid in the CARES Act. These dollars actually meant by Congress to assist individuals, businesses, and local and state governments to pay for services required because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dollars meant to aid first responders, medical personnel, and virus victims, not non-citizens.

THE BILL
. HR 6481, sponsored by conservative Rep. Matt Gaetz (Fla.), would rescind the above appropriations and re-allocate the funds to the immigration service and Border Patrol for their operations and support in fighting the pandemic. The bill currently is in the House Appropriations Committee, awaiting a vote to advance to the full House for debate.

TAKE ACTION NOW
. Our tax money dispensed to control and defeat COVID-19 should not benefit illegal aliens and uninvited refugees. Contact your representative today to vote FOR HR 6481, using the information above. NEBRASKA TAXPAYERS FOR FREEDOM ISSUE PAPER:
NO BAILOUTS FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS.

BACKGROUND
. Our federal tax dollars dispensed to fight the coronavirus pandemic is revenue meant to fight and defeat this scourge among our citizenry, particularly for first responders such as law officers, paramedics, firefighters, and medical personnel. Most forms of federal aid do not fund illegals or their businesses. Not one tax dollar should provide COVID-19 bailouts for illegal aliens residing here.

THE BILL
. HR 7043, sponsored by conservative Rep. Ken Buck (CO.), would specifically clarify that CARES Act funds not go to a state or locality that issues pandemic stimulus checks or other payments to illegals. Co-sponsors are Cong. Steve King (Ia.) and Mo Brooks (Mo.). The bill currently is in the House Oversight & Reform Committee, awaiting a vote to advance to the full House for debate. Proponents argue that CARES money should go only to working citizens who obey our laws. “With more than 40 million Americans out of work, it is unfair to send hard-earned taxpayer dollars to non-citizens who entered this country illegally,” stated Rep. Buck, “We need to prioritize the American people by making sure taxpayers are not subsidizing blue states’ plans to give cash payments to illegal immigrants.” States, including California, which offer $500 cash payments to illegals, have redirected vital aid from Americans to illegal aliens, and the bill would stop this largesse. Heritage Action for America praised the sponsor as someone who continues to prove his willingness to fight for U.S. workers during this time of economic turmoil. Other supporters include Numbers USA, Federation for American Immigration Reform, and Center for Immigration Studies.

COMPANION BILL
. Sen. Tom Cotton (Ark.) introduced a companion bill, S. 3796, in the Senate. “Congress passed the CARES Act to help workers impacted by the China virus pandemic, not to give a handout to those who broke our immigration laws,” said Cotton, “The federal government shouldn’t be subsidizing states’ efforts to send cash to illegal aliens.”

TAKE ACTION NOW
. Our tax money dispensed to control and defeat COVID-19 should not benefit illegal aliens or their families. It should benefit only citizens adversely impacted by the coronavirus. Contact your representative today to vote FOR HR 7043 and your 2 senators to vote FOR S. 3796, using the information above.
